Quick & Easy Homemade Hummus!

Quick, easy, and healthy!

If you have not made homemade hummus before, do me a favor and try this recipe. This hummus is light, refreshing, and delicious.

Why buy hummus at the store, when it is so easy to make it at home. Another added bonus, is that you don’t have to worry about any surprise ingredients 🙂

I started making my own hummus a few years ago, when I learned that I had a slight intolerance to sesame. I actually did not know that most hummus recipes called for sesame, but that is because it’s referred to as “Tahini” on the ingredients labels. Tahini is simply ground hulled sesame seeds, and it gives hummus a nice creamy texture.

But, since I was trying to remove sesame from my diet at the time, I started searching for recipes that I could make that were Tahini-free. I was happy to find that I could easily make homemade hummus without it and that it could still be creamy.

There are many versions of homemade hummus that I have made, but this one is one of my favorites. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Serve with your choice of veggies, crackers, or chips.

To store, place the hummus in a small tupperware or container and keep it in the refrigerator. I find that it typically lasts for 1-2 weeks, assuming I haven't eaten it all by then 🙂
